Learn the history of maple sugaring through exciting exhibits plus maple syrup samples and the Country Store make this a great first stop! Nestled in the foothills of the Green Mountains, where Vermont’s finest maple syrup is made, it is “The Sweetest Story Ever Told! Next, you will visit PLYMOUTH NOTCH, the birthplace and boyhood home of PRESIDENT CALVIN COOLIDGE. You will visit the historical museum, community church, cheese factory, schoolhouse, general store and cemetery where the President is buried.
Enjoy some time for lunch on own in WOODSTOCK, a quaint village that even has a COVERED BRIDGE! Bid farewell to your local guide at QUECHEE GORGE, a photo and rest stop before you travel
to NEW HAMPSHIRE, “the Granite State”. Arrive in PLYMOUTH, NH check into the FAIRFIELD INN by Marriott for a TWO NIGHT STAY.

Depart and travel to meet your LOCAL GUIDE at for a day of touring New Hampshire!
Arrive at the FRANCONIA NOTCH VISITOR’S CENTER. There are historical displays, a wonderful 20 minute interpretive DVD, a coffee shop, gift shop and rest rooms! Some folks may want to take a partial tour of the Gorge.
Travel through Franconia Notch State Park. Stop to view the Old Man of the Mountain Historic Site.
Tour through Crawford Notch with photo stops of the Omni Mount Washington Hotel, the Elephant Head rock formation and Silver Cascade, and then NORTH CONWAY for lunch on own.
Lunch on own and shopping time in the village of North Conway.
Tour the KANCAMAGUS National Scenic Byway with stops at the Albany Covered Bridge, Rocky Gorge, Sugar Hill overlook as time and weather allow. Travel through the former logging town of Lincoln. LOON GONDOLA located in the heart of the White Mountain National Forest. Soar to the 2,750 foot summit on New Hampshire’s longest, scenic Gondola Skyride and enjoy spectacular views. At the top watch local artisans produce unique crafts, climb the observation tower or visit the Summit Café for a snack.
Approximate return to the lodge.
Depart for dinner.

Welcome to MAINE, “the Pine State”. Meet a LOCAL GUIDE for a morning tour of Kennebunkport included a drive past the Bush compound at Walkers Point
Enjoy free time for lunch on your own in Dock Square, KENNEBUNKPORT. There are many quaint shops and eateries along the waterfront.
Depart Kennebunkport and make your way to Portland.
Arrive at the CLARION HOTEL, Portland (drop bags at hotel) & welcome reception. Enjoy a TWO NIGHT STAY.
Depart hotel and travel downtown to meet local guide.
Meet your LOCAL GUIDE at the hotel for a tour of PORTLAND - Maine’s largest city-by-the-sea. You will view Longfellow’s boyhood home, sea captain houses and the elegant Victoria Mansion as you drive through historic neighborhoods overlooking the islands of Casco Bay in Portland Harbor. Your tour includes a stop at Portland Head Light. This historic landmark is the most photographed lighthouse in America, set in Fort Williams Park with crashing surf, a beach, and an old fort

Your LOCAL GUIDE will meet you at your hotel for a full day of touring. Get acquainted with highlights of the mid-coast region as you travel to Boothbay Harbor, the boating capitol of Maine.
Enjoy a scenic, narrated BOOTHBAY HARBOR CRUISE. You’ll pass by beautiful vacation homes, lighthouses, small islands as well as a visit with the seals on the ledges.
Enjoy some free time to explore Boothbay Harbor’s picturesque waterfront. This resort town has retained the atmosphere of an old New England village. Fishing craft lie alongside wharves that follow the quaint, winding village streets lined with shops and art galleries.
Travel a short distance to your luncheon.
Don your SOUVENIR LOBSTER HAT for an included TRADITIONAL MAINE LOBSTER LUNCHEON today. (alternate selection is available).
Depart and travel to Bath.
Tour the MAINE MARITIME MUSEUM. Located on the banks of the Kennebec River, the museum depicts Maine's shipbuilding industry from the 1600's to the present. Numerous hands on exhibits, boat building demonstrations, and a lobstering exhibit are here for you to see on the grounds of an historic shipyard. (Depart at 4:30 PM for Freeport)
Depart Bath and return to the hotel.

Depart hotel and travel to MASSACHUSETTS, “the Bay State”.
Arrive in STURBRIDGE and step back in time at OLD STURBRIDGE VILLAGE, a re-creation of a rural New England town. You’ll have the afternoon to enjoy lunch on your own and strolling through this community of the 1830’s.
Depart Old Sturbridge Village.
Depart for dinner in West Brookfield.
Arrive at the historical SALEM CROSS INN. (dinner prior to hotel arrival)
Let the FIREPLACE FEAST begin! Relax by the fieldstone fireplace as the crackling fire roasts your prime rib “to a turn” by rotating it slowly over a crackling fire of wild cherry logs. This jack is the only known 1700’s antique roasting jack that was used to roast fowl and beef in New England that is still in use. The flavor of the fireplace roasted prime rib is unsurpassed.
